If you’re thinking it—we’ve probably heard it.

Here’s the rundown on the questions we get most often.

What's the difference between your urgent care and your primary care?

Anyone can walk in for urgent care—you don't need to be our patient. But here's the advantage if we're also your primary care: the pediatrician who does your son's sports physical in July is the same one you can see when he gets injured at practice in September. We're not running two separate practices under one roof. We're one team handling both routine care and urgent stuff.

When you show up at 8pm because your daughter's fever won't break, we already know her history, her medication allergies, and what's normal for her. That's the difference when you get urgent care from people who already know you.

Do I need to be a primary care patient to use your urgent care?

Nope. Walk-ins are welcome whether you're our patient or not. No appointment needed. If your kid is sick or hurt, just come in.

Do you really accept walk-ins, or is that just for established patients?

We really accept walk-ins—new patients, established patients, everyone. You don't need an appointment and you don't need to call ahead. We're open until 10pm on weekdays and 9am-5pm on weekends. (If you’d prefer the peace of mind, you can grab an appointment with same-day availability via our online booking portal.

I'm worried I'm overreacting. Should I still come in?

Yes. You don't know if this is “urgent-care-worthy” or if you're overreacting? Ask anyway. We'd rather you ask. Everything feels like an emergency when it's your first baby and the moon is out—we get it.

What can telemedicine do? What can't it do?

Telemedicine CAN handle:
  • Minor illnesses (colds, mild fevers, rashes)
  • Medication questions or refills
  • Post-visit follow-ups
  • "Should I be worried?" triage calls
  • Behavioral or developmental concerns
  • Routine chronic condition check-ins

Telemedicine CAN'T do:
  • Physical exams that need hands-on assessment
  • X-rays or lab work
  • Stitches, wound care, or procedures
  • Anything requiring an in-person evaluation

But if you need to come in, we'll tell you—and we're right here when you do.

What languages does your team speak?

Our doctors speak English, Spanish, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi. It’s important to us that the care guidance we give is clear and comprehensible and that’s so much easier when we don’t have to use Google Translate.

Do you accept Medicaid and CHIP?

Yes. We accept Medicaid, CHIP, and most major insurances.

How much does a visit cost if I don't have insurance?

We're upfront about pricing because we know surprise medical bills are stressful. For self-pay patients, costs vary depending on why you're being seen—a simple sick visit is different from something that needs X-rays or lab work. But we'll tell you what things cost as soon as we know what you need.

If you're paying out of pocket and cost is a concern, let us know when you check in. We'd rather have that conversation up front than have you avoid bringing your child in because you're worried about the bill.

Will I get a surprise bill weeks later?

We work to give you clear cost information before you leave. No mystery bills showing up in your mailbox weeks later.

How do I make KidsWatch my child's primary care provider?

Call us at (703) 775-0777 or book online. We'll get your child's records transferred and schedule your first well visit. If you need urgent care before your first appointment, come in—we'll get everything set up from there.

Can I use you just for urgent care without switching my primary care?

Absolutely. Walk-ins are welcome whether you're our patient or not. But most families who do make the switch tell us they wish they'd done it sooner—usually right around the third time they had to choose between the ER and crossing their fingers until Monday.

What if my child has a chronic condition like asthma or ADHD?

We manage asthma, allergies, ADHD, diabetes, and other ongoing conditions as part of primary care. Your pediatrician tracks medications, does regular check-ins, and notices patterns because we've been following your child's health all along.
